Ethical consumerism, conscientious environmentalism, and collaborative humanitarianism are needed to shape this new century. In a time when seas register boiling temperatures, mountains lack snow, and deserts flood, our reasons to maintain a poisonous way of life are self-destructive. We must consciously choose an optimistic future over an abyss of collective apathy. So choose with me! If you are looking to make a difference, get in touch about my current work projects:
Note: I am suspending my social media for Q4 2024 to fully focus on UNV work and mental health outreach.
I use The Arts to help me release negative emotion through the act of creation. My work is also created during meditation. I believe the canvas demands the truth of who we are. So while I am an optimistic artist, some of my works will not be. That's honesty.
I think modern life is full of enormous pressure to be dishonest with ourselves until we engage in unconscious living. Lives in Monochrome, in other words. The good in our lives is rendered invisible by this avoidance of truth. We begin to relate to existence only through loss, jarred awake by the angst around us.
This type of misery is quite profitable. But in my heart, I don't believe this is what "the height of human civilization" should entail. So I'm asking you to find some inspiration. Breathe. Chill. Abide. Then get creative with me.
With Love,
M.

The majority of humanity has forgotten how to actually breathe. We often hyperventilate through our lives, which causes the body to accumulate physical disease and mental disorders.
The first step in creating space for the sacred and optimistic aspects of living is to choose a meditative regime of deep breathing, yoga, tai chi, qui gong and/or martial arts.
When you are "in the zone" doing what you love, time flies. Thought ceases. Only the present exists. The act of Creation makes you a positive conduit.
So choose an an activity that makes you feel this liberated. Combine it with meditation. Practice daily to make it sacred. Your perspective will naturally begin to shift towards optimism even if your commitment is only just five minutes per day.
After 20 years of comparative religion study and training, I can tell you that most traditions say you must "be as a child." To do so, you must rediscover your inner child who loved being alive. Choosing to abide this edict allows you to keep your heart & soul intact in any circumstance.
Think about it: what exactly did you give up as a kid to be as unhappy as you are now?
